Wah! Ray Fisher Drops Snarky Shart, Refuses 2 Move On From DC
After last week’s drama between Patty Jenkins and James Gunn, most of us on social thought the drama was over.
However, Ray Fisher, prone to kicking up dust in the middle of a picnic, brought out the cannons this week to put Gunn on blast. Unfortunately, it backfired; but he was thisclose.

Ray Fisher says Gunn practices “fake grace” on Twitter
Ray Fisher has had a long beef with the DCU. From getting a bulk of his scenes cut to Joss Whedon allegedly creating a hostile work environment, the superhero experience hasn’t been so super for Fisher.
“The way @JamesGunn uses fake grace on Twitter is really funny,” Fisher tweeted. “Him going to bat for Joss Whedon, pseudo-apologizing for it, and then deleting it immediately before taking his new DC job is not. Refusing to apologize for toxic behavior seems to be a job requirement for WB/DC.”
Unfortunately this time, Ray Fisher jumped the shark a bit.
If fans remember correctly, Gunn lost his spot at Marvel (he was canceled by Twitter) after older tweets appeared to portray him as incentive and inappropriate (most of the tweets were jokes about sex/sex orientation/incest). Of course, they were just jokes, but it doesn’t change the fact that Gunn likely has some PTSD about his Twitter feed.
Suffice it to say, Gunn has now set his Twitter account to delete older tweets automatically. Ray Fisher didn’t know that.
Gunn was graceful in his response to Fisher, though, apologizing for his tweet about Whedon but explaining that, deleting it had nothing to do with “fake grace.”
“ALL my tweets automatically delete every few months, Ray, it has nothing to do with my tweets to you.”
The mic drop was hilarious, but Fisher’s experience with the DCU isn’t.
Gunn says the full slate is ready to go
All of this comes as Gunn has gone full Zaslav with the DCU. After last week’s report that Wonder Woman was finished, as was Superman, as was Affleck’s Batman, The Flash, et al., on Sunday it was floated that Gunn’s own Suicide Squad cast had even been cut.
Oof. That’s full-on Zaslav.
Thus far, we’ve agreed with Gunn’s moves, but we sniffed a bit of a shart on Monday when our News feed began to populate with reports that Gunn did want to keep Pattinson’s Batman. Um, ok.
Pattinson’s Batman is arguably the worst version of the caped crusader (next to Batfleck), so learning that Gunn plans to keep Pattinson on board as the OG vampire bat(man) with emo face paint was a bit of a bummer. At least for me, but anyone under 25 loves him, so I get it.
Still. In Gunn we trust. Gunn has yet to drop a snarky shart on us, but cheers to a future where James drops crappy movies. Until then, everyone is just going to have to take a seat somewhere and let Gunn and Zaslav do their thing.
Ray Fisher’s experience in Hollywood thus far hasn’t been the best, which is unfortunate, but the past is the past. Move on man. It’s what’s best. Whether what happened is right or wrong, it can’t be changed; the continued bitterness is just a bad look. It’s a snarky shart.
